Old Hall Farm Barns

About Us

We have spent the last few years lovingly converting this 17th-century Barn and we are delighted to be able to offer a unique Barn conversion holiday set in the Suffolk countryside.

Old Hall Farm Barns has a large open-plan space on the ground floor with a well-equipped kitchen and dining area allowing plenty of space to enjoy cooking and eating meals together as a group. The living area offers comfy sofas, TV and a wood-burner. There are two separate upstairs areas, each with their own staircase. In total there are five bedrooms, comfortably sleeping up to nine people.  There is one shower-room with a toilet, and one shower-room with a bath and toilet, at each end of the upstairs areas. There is also a shower-room with a toilet downstairs for easy access. Some of the upstairs rooms are within “pods” which are a unique design feature to ensure that the ancient timber-frame structure of the Barn is undisturbed.

Outside the Barn is a spacious and uniquely-styled private and enclosed courtyard, which reflects its former use as a farmyard.  This is an ideal setting for spending time relaxing with family or friends with fresh local food and a cold drink, and a chance to enjoy the large Suffolk sky and beautiful sunsets.  There is also ample parking space in front of the courtyard.

We live in a small converted “Granary” on the same site as the Barn, although its privacy and independence is maintained at all times. We enjoy having guests to stay at the Barn and our close proximity means that we are able to offer a more personal service should you need to know anything about staying in the Barn or the local area.

We have enjoyed bringing this Barn to life and we hope to welcome you to our unique holiday accommodation soon!

About the area

The Barn is located in the village of Wenhaston, which has a small friendly community. Nearby is a village hall, post office, children’s play area, a village shop and within walking distance is The Star Inn; a cosy award-winning pub.

Wenhaston is surrounded by Five Commons of interconnecting heaths providing an excellent network of footpaths which are teeming with wildlife. Also locally we have Church Farm Marshes Nature Reserve and Blyth Woods within walking distance. For seasonal entertainment we have the recently opened outdoor Thorington Theatre nestled in Suffolk woodland.

Old Hall Farm Barns is the ideal holiday retreat whether you are looking for a child-friendly break spent walking in the forest and choosing which beach to have a picnic on, or if you want a long weekend socialising with friends and family in a sunny pub garden. We are located four miles from Halesworth Railway Station and just over four miles from Darsham Railway Station for guests travelling to Wenhaston by train.
